The Jeanneau Sun Kiss 47 is a cutter-rigged centerboard sailing yacht built to carry crews safely across open ocean. At 47 feet with a 13-foot beam, this 1989 model combines the build quality Jeanneau is known for with thoughtful updates made over years of active use. A single Volvo D2-55 diesel engine installed in 2019 provides auxiliary power, supported by a fuel polishing system and 220-liter fuel tank. The boat is rigged for flexible sailing with a mainsail and genoa both renewed in 2023, along with a jib, cutter sail, asymmetrical spinnaker with sock, and storm sail. Stainless steel wire rigging has been maintained in sound condition with recent attention to running lines.
Below deck, the layout provides three double cabins: a forward Pullman berth with ensuite head and sail locker, plus two identical aft double cabins each with sink and storage, sharing a head between them. The main salon offers ample seating, and the galley sits to starboard for ease of cooking under sail. A Force 10 three-burner stove with oven, large refrigerator and freezer, and water heater support galley work. Storage is plentiful throughout, including 125-gallon water tanks integrated into the sole.
The electrical and mechanical systems reflect years of practical cruising investment. A 640-watt solar array with Victron controller, wind generator, 90-amp alternator, and 60-amp Sterling charger support onboard power. A 200-liter-per-day watermaker with new membrane as of January 2024 provides fresh water independence. Navigation includes a B&G Zeus 9-inch plotter, Standard Horizon VHF with AIS, AIS transceiver, Newman 3100 hydraulic autopilot with Raymarine backup, and ICOM 802 SSB radio. Starlink was added in 2023.
Deck gear and ground tackle suit long-distance cruising: a 1500-watt Lofrans windlass, 70-pound Rocha anchor with 300 feet of new chain, backup anchors including Fortress models, and a stainless steel dinghy arch. The boat carries a Highfield inflatable with 18 HP outboard from 2020. Recent upgrades include new mainsail and genoa, a 2023 water heater, updated electrical panel and wiring, new dodger and bimini, and foredeck awning installed in 2024.
