The 1989 Morgan Out Island 41 is a 41-foot fiberglass cruising sailboat with a 13.79-foot beam, powered by a single 40-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine. Built for extended passage-making, she carries a 110 Genoa on roller furler, with standing and running rigging replaced in recent years. A hard bimini fitted with six 100-watt solar panels supports a self-sufficient electrical system featuring 800 amp-hours of AGM battery capacity and a 3-kilowatt marine inverter.

Navigation and connectivity center on a NEMA 2000 databus with integrated Garmin equipment, including chartplotter, autopilot, and an Airmar smart transducer. Separate Raymarine instruments display wind and depth at the helm. A Class B AIS VHF radio with cordless handset, Fusion XM stereo, and Starlink satellite internet round out the electronics package. Deck systems include an electric windlass fed by dedicated battery supply, paired with a 55-pound Rocna anchor, 90 feet of chain, and 150 feet of rode.

The interior features dual galley water tanks—55 gallons on port side and 90 gallons on starboard—with a 0.5-micron filter and UV sterilizer serving fresh water. A propane cooktop and combination microwave air fryer provide meal preparation options, while a diesel-heated hydronic system warms the cabin and supplies hot water. Forward and aft heads were replaced in 2022. Two battery banks with three MPPT controllers manage the solar installation.

The engine runs cleanly with no oil consumption; recent oil analysis by Blackstone laboratories showed no anomalies. Steering cables, propeller, cutlass bearing, and dripless packing are recent replacements. Bottom paint includes five coats of barrier coat and four coats of Seahawk Cucoat, with at least one year of antifouling life remaining.
