1989 Wauquiez Amphitrite 45 MS

The Wauquiez Amphitrite 45 MS is a heavy-displacement motor-sailer designed for serious offshore cruising. Her pilot house layout, high freeboard, and protected cockpit provide excellent shelter and visibility in open-water conditions. The hull is fiberglass, and she draws power from a 100 hp Volkswagen Marine diesel engine paired with a bow thruster.

Below deck, the yacht accommodates two cabins and two heads. The saloon features air conditioning installed in 2024, and a broad refrigeration setup including two fixed units plus a 35L portable fridge. A Schenker Zen 50 watermaker supports extended cruising independence, backed by substantial fresh water capacity. The electrical system centres on six 110Ah Victron AGM batteries installed in 2026, a Victron MultiPlus 3000 inverter/charger, Victron Cerbo GX management, and Victron BMV battery monitoring. A 1,740W solar array with multiple Victron MPPT controllers enables off-grid operation at anchor. Starlink Mini satellite communications and an EPIRB are fitted for offshore use.

The sailing package includes a cutter rig with mainsail, yankee, gale sail, and asymmetrical spinnaker; a reinforced genoa with new Facnor furler; and a gennaker with snuffer. Navigation equipment comprises an Axiom 7 chartplotter, autopilot, radar, and AIS with upgraded antenna and cabling. The rig was professionally inspected and tensioned in 2026, with running rigging fully refreshed.

Recent major work includes a full 4,000-hour engine service in March 2026, bow thruster refurbishment in 2025, new primary Racor fuel separator in 2026, antifouling in 2025, and professional re-sealing of the pilot saloon windows in 2025. Heavy-duty davits were reinforced in 2025, and air conditioning was added to the salon and aft cabin in 2024.
