1990 Bruce Roberts Mauritius Ketch

A 43-foot fiberglass ketch built in 1990 to Bruce Roberts' Mauritius design, this sailing yacht combines solid ocean-cruising capability with thoughtful comfort for extended passages and living aboard. The hull was laid up with hand-applied reinforced plastic laminates and underwent major structural work in 2010. The interior features exotic hardwood joinery throughout, while the 12-foot-4-inch beam and 5-foot-9-inch draft provide the stability and seakindly motion characteristic of the design.

Power comes from an 80-horsepower Yammer inboard engine, rebuilt in 2019, driving a three-blade bronze propeller. Fuel capacity is 130 gallons, with 100 gallons of water and 25 gallons of waste tankage. The sail plan includes a main, mizzen, genoa, stormsail, and genaker.

Recent upgrades include a bow thruster, refrigeration, air conditioning, autopilot, and newer heads. A custom arch mounted on deck holds the tender and carries solar panels. The boat's robust construction and reinforced impact resistance suit serious offshore work.
