This 1990 Carver Californian 55 is a 55-foot fiberglass cruiser built for extended time away from the dock. Twin Detroit Diesel 692 engines producing 510 horsepower each deliver a cruising speed of 12 knots and a top speed of 18 knots, paired with Allison transmissions and a bow thruster for maneuvering in tight quarters.
The interior spans three staterooms and three heads, each with a shower. The galley includes a convection microwave, electric glass-top range, and three refrigerators with two freezers. A spacious U-shaped dinette and full-size salon furniture create comfortable living spaces, while an enclosed aft deck with panoramic windows and a wet bar extend the usable deck area. The 15-foot beam provides generous interior volume throughout.
Navigation and control systems include a Benmar Marine autopilot, Raymarine chart plotter and radar, VHF radio with intercom, and a 1500-watt inverter. Power is managed by a Kohler 12,000-watt generator (4,500 hours), six house batteries installed in 2022, and two 8D start batteries. An electric windlass handles an 80-pound anchor with 300 feet of galvanized chain.
The boat received new bottom paint in July 2024. Additional equipment includes an 11-foot Apex tender with 20-horsepower outboard and lift system, two spare propellers, a 1,000-pound davit, and a full enclosure on the flybridge and aft deck. Amenities feature a cockpit shower and flood lights, dockside freshwater inlet, raw water wash-down system, and rod holders.
