1990 Grand Banks 46 Classic

This 1990 Grand Banks 46 Classic is a fiberglass trawler built to the design and standards the builder became known for. Two Caterpillar 3208 TA diesel engines, each producing 375 horsepower, drive the boat through twin disc transmissions with dripless shaft seals. The boat cruises at 9.5 knots and reaches 18 knots at full throttle. A 15 KVA Westerbeke generator provides AC power, backed by a 3000-watt inverter and 50-amp shore connections fore and aft.

The layout centers on a pilothouse with helm station opening to an L-shaped salon with dining table and flat-screen television. The galley sits below and includes a four-burner stove with oven, refrigeration, and a pressurized water system with a 20-gallon hot water heater. Forward is a V-berth with double bunk, washer and dryer, television, and an ensuite head with upgraded toilet and waste treatment. An aft stateroom features an island queen bed, television, and a separate ensuite head with split water closet and shower.

Mechanical systems reflect recent updates: house and engine batteries date to 2023, the generator battery to 2024, and the air-conditioning units are newer FCF units throughout. Twin heads are fitted with upgraded Raritan Elegance toilets and PuraSan waste treatment systems. Navigation includes Garmin chartplotters in the pilothouse and flybridge, closed radar array, and Raymarine autopilot at both helms. A Lofrans windlass services dual anchors on chain and rope, and a 2022 Revere life raft provides safety equipment.

The deck combines teak on side decks, aft deck, flybridge, and bow with canvas bimini top and enclosure. Additional features include a steaming mast with lifting boom, dinghy davit, antiseptic hull-protection system, and oil-change pump for both engines and generator.
