The Island Packet 27 is a solidly built cruising sailboat with the substantial feel of a much larger yacht. At 8,000 pounds, she sits stable in the water and carries the rugged construction Island Packet is known for. The 27-footer is powered by a 2013 Yanmar 3YM30 diesel engine with 30 hp and 400 operating hours, paired with wheel steering for easy handling under power and sail.
Below deck, the layout maximizes space for a boat this size. Forward is a spacious V-berth, followed by a head with hanging closet and a large salon with fold-down table. To port sits a galley with stainless steel sink and two-burner LPG stove. A quarterberth and instrument panel occupy the starboard aft area. Fuel capacity is 19 gallons, water 31 gallons, and holding 11 gallons—all in aluminum tanks renewed in 2011 and 2013. Hot water runs via heat exchanger and shore power. A 6-gallon propane tank serves the galley.
The rigging was fully replaced in 2015 with 1/19 standing rigging on the aluminum deck-stepped, single-spreader mast. The sloop is fitted for cutter rigging and carries a mainsail and 130% genoa with new UV cover installed in 2017. Canvas includes a dodger, bimini, and mainsail cover, with cockpit and interior cushions throughout.
