1990 Koopmans 47

The 1990 Koopmans 47 is a steel cutter-rigged offshore cruiser designed by Dutch naval architect Dick Koopmans, Sr., and built at Van Wavaren Boatyard in Rotterdam. Her rolled and faired steel hull, balanced rig, and deep 7-foot-6-inch draft with a 14,300-pound keel create a stable, easily managed platform suited to extended passages and blue-water cruising. A single 62-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine powers the boat to a cruising speed of 6.25 knots and maximum speed of 9 knots.

The layout centers on a center cockpit configuration with a custom interior finished for practicality and comfort. Two cabins and a functional galley and navigation station support extended live-aboard capability. The yacht was commissioned in Holland in 1990 and brought to the United States, where interior finishing was completed at Hinkley Yard in Maine.

In 2024, the boat underwent a comprehensive refit that included complete replacement of standing and running rigging, a 5,000-hour engine service, and rebuilding of the teak deckhouse with a fiberglass no-skid surface. The inventory is extensive, with a full complement of operational equipment, spare parts, and safety gear on board.
