The Corsair F27 is a 27-foot trimaran built from fiberglass with a distinctive design combining cruising comfort, racing performance, and trailerable construction. At 19 feet beam, the wide hulls deliver stable, level sailing and spacious deck space. The boat draws only 14 inches and features a retractable daggerboard, allowing shallow-water exploration and excellent windward performance competitive with much larger monohulls.
The accommodation includes three cabins and one head, arranged for comfortable family cruising. The fractional rig has all control lines led aft to the cockpit, with a roller furling boom and jiffy reefing as standard for straightforward sail handling. Single-handed rigging and launching can be completed in under 30 minutes, and the outriggers fold in roughly one minute once afloat.
The F27 employs advanced construction including PVC foam core, double bias glass fabric, Kevlar, S-glass, and carbon fiber with multistrata vacupressure lamination techniques. The shallow draft and light weight make trailering practical, and the design is documented with over 500,000 miles of cruising history. Power comes from a 9.9 hp Suzuki gasoline outboard.
