The 1991 Ocean Alexander 520 Pilothouse is a 52-foot fiberglass pilothouse yacht powered by twin 800-horsepower Detroit diesel engines. The boat features a three-stateroom, two-head layout designed to accommodate six people comfortably. A curved staircase on the starboard side leads to the pilothouse, which is outfitted with comprehensive navigation electronics including Raymarine radar and GPS, Simrad autopilot, and Standard Horizon VHF radios. The pilothouse includes a cruising dinette, doors to the side decks, and direct access to the flybridge via an internal staircase or port-side ladder.
The master stateroom forward offers a queen/king berth with ensuite head and stall shower. One guest cabin features a double berth with washer and dryer; the second guest cabin has twin-over-under bunks. A shared guest head with stall shower serves the aft cabins. The galley sits on the salon level and is equipped with a full-size Frigidaire refrigerator with freezer drawers, Bosch dishwasher, convection microwave oven, three-top glass cooktop, and ample storage. The salon features large side windows and a sliding glass door opening to the cockpit, with hardwood flooring and wall-to-wall carpeting throughout the lower decks.
Extensive systems upgrades span 2019 through 2026, including both turbochargers and turbo elbows, a hot water heater, HVAC raw water pump, fresh water pump, and stainless steel mufflers. A Westerbeke 8kW generator and Xantrex 2000W inverter provide power, supported by dual 30-amp shore connections. Bow and stern thrusters, trim tab controls, and an oil changing system are installed. A rigid flybridge enclosure with full weather protection was added in 2019 and updated with replacement glass in 2025.
The boat is equipped with a Zodiac 12-foot rigid inflatable tender powered by a 30HP Honda engine, deployed via a Nick Jackson davit system. Additional features include LED lighting throughout, Marine Air heating and air conditioning, VacuFlush systems in both heads, and a Sonos music system in the salon. A full-walk-around side deck with stainless steel railings surrounds the boat, which features a teak cockpit and cap rail. The painted hull, stainless steel CQR anchor with electric windlass, and teak appointments complete the exterior.
