1991 Ron Given Catamaran

The Phoenix is a 1991 Ron Given Game Cat, a design built specifically for New Zealand conditions. At 40 feet with a 14.4-foot beam and shallow draft of 0.9 metres, the catamaran combines the stability and efficiency these hulls are known for with genuine versatility for both coastal and offshore work.

Twin Yanmar 240-horsepower diesel engines were installed in 2008 and have approximately 1,350 hours. The boat cruises comfortably between 16 and 20 knots, with a maximum speed around 23 knots. Running at 8 knots yields exceptional fuel economy and an estimated range of 500 nautical miles. Fuel capacity is 1,200 litres and water capacity is 1,000 litres.

The catamaran features twin helm stations and foils for enhanced performance. Below deck are two cabins and one head. Recent maintenance includes paint work completed in 2023 and antifoul applied in 2024, reflecting consistent upkeep of the hull and systems.
