2000 Chamberlin 40

The Chamberlin 40 is a composite catamaran built in epoxy cedar with a beam of 23.62 feet, delivering the stability and shallow draft characteristic of her design. She's powered by two Nanni diesel engines and carries 400 litres of fuel capacity, with cruising speed of 8 knots and a maximum speed of 18 knots. Her shallow 1.2-metre draft and feathering propellers make her well suited to coastal exploration and tight anchorages.

Accommodation comprises two large king cabins and one double cabin, offering six berths plus a comfortable sea berth in the main saloon. The saloon features a horseshoe settee seating six or more, with 70 litres of refrigeration and 100 litres of freezer capacity. The galley is well equipped with a four-burner cooktop, separate oven, and microwave. Two full heads with hot and cold pressurised showers serve the accommodation, along with an additional transom swim platform shower.

The boat is comprehensively outfitted for extended cruising. Navigation electronics include a Raymarine 12-inch multifunction plotter with repeater display and autopilot, plus ICOM VHF radio. A Maxwell electric anchor winch handles ground tackle. Eight batteries with Mastervolt inverter and charger provide power, supported by a Honda generator. The sail plan includes main, furling genoa, staysail, storm sail, and asymmetric spinnaker with sock. Eight-channel battery bank capacity supports extended operations at sea.

Recent maintenance includes antifouling completed in 2024 and full engine service. The alloy mast and rigging were renewed in 2022. A RIB tender with 6hp Johnson outboard, comprehensive safety gear, and a watermaker are included.
