This 1992 Catalina 28 is a fiberglass cruising sailboat built for practical daylength and comfortable weeklong passages. At 26 feet long with a 10-foot beam, she balances manageable handling with genuine interior volume. The boat retains her original 18 hp Universal diesel engine.
The layout includes two cabins and one head. The interior features renewed upholstery, an electric toilet, black water tank, and a washbasin with shower. Recent work in 2025 included replacement of the engine control lever and cable, plus renewal of upholstery in the aft berth.
Significant upgrades were completed in 2021: Raymarine wind and data instruments, VHF with DSC, an electric anchor windlass, a furling headsail, a battened mainsail with one reef, rigid boom vang, and replacement of the forestay and backstay. Running rigging was also partially renewed. The hull received preventive osmosis treatment at that time. Fresh antifouling has been applied recently, and the boat receives regular annual maintenance including engine service and general upkeep.
