1992 Hunter Passage 42

The Hunter Passage 42 is a 42-foot center cockpit cruising sailboat built in 1992 with a fiberglass hull and a single 62-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine. The design delivers a cruising speed of 6 knots with a maximum of 8 knots, supported by a 24,000-pound displacement and 7,700-pound ballast. The center cockpit layout features easy access from both starboard and portside, with a swim step and stern platform aft for water activities. Forward, the sail plan and bow design are configured for offshore passage work.

The accommodations include a main salon with a dinette and galley amidships, an aft owner's stateroom accessed from the port passageway, and a guest stateroom with head facilities forward. The layout reflects Hunter's design philosophy for this model—balancing seaworthiness with livable cabin space on a 42-foot platform.

A major 2018–2019 refit replaced core systems throughout the boat. More recently, 2025 updates added a Bimini top, dodger, and full enclosure with eisenglass and no-see-um screening. New refrigeration equipment includes upgraded compressors, evaporators, condensers, digital displays, and circuit boards for both fridge and freezer. The helm features newer electronics, and companionway access now includes double swing doors in smoked plexiglass. Cockpit and aft sun deck cushions complete the topside upgrades.
