This 36-foot Shannon Custom Downeast was designed by Royal Lowell and built by Shannon Boat Company in Bristol, Rhode Island. Drawing on classic Downeast heritage, she combines traditional construction with a proven hull form refined over generations. A single 350-horsepower Caterpillar diesel engine drives the boat to 17 knots at full speed, with a cruising pace of 13 knots.
The interior reflects classic workmanship throughout. The main cabin features port and starboard settees flanking a centerline drop-leaf table, with both settees extending to serve as berths. The lower helm station sits to starboard with an adjacent navigation seat and flip-up chart table. The galley sits forward to port in an open U-shape that flows into the salon rather than isolating the cook. An enclosed head with a separate shower stall is fitted across from the galley—an uncommon amenity in a boat this size. The owner's stateroom forward holds an offset queen berth, with hanging locker, drawers, shelves, and lockers throughout. Interior surfaces combine white finishes with varnished hardwood joinery, solid teak and holly cabin sole, and handcrafted detailing in Herreshoff style. Storage has been maximized in every available space.
A complete hull-up refit in 2018 updated every system on the boat: all electrical, mechanical, plumbing, upholstery, canvas, and instrumentation were replaced or restored. The yacht has cruised the Triangle Loop, Downeast Maine, and the full length of the Chesapeake Bay.
