The 2000 Hinckley Picnic Boat 36 Classic is a diesel-powered downeast cruiser built on a composite hull of Kevlar E-glass hybrid and balsa core. Powered by a Yanmar 420-horsepower diesel engine paired with a Hamilton jet drive, she cruises at 25 knots and reaches 27.5 knots at speed. The boat features a varnished teak pilothouse with opening and fixed windows, custom helm and navigator's seats, and extensive stainless steel hardware throughout. Navigation electronics include a Garmin 5212 plotter and radar, SIMRAD autopilot, and VHF radio. An electric windlass, custom teak and stainless details, and a full cockpit bimini complete the deck setup.
Below, the interior is finished in satin-varnished cherry with a teak and holly cabin sole. A V-berth with adapter cushion accommodates two, featuring a 10-inch mattress and easy-access under-berth storage. The galley to port includes a Force 10 two-burner stove, Grunert refrigeration, and stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressure water. The head features a vanity with Grohe faucet, handheld shower, and vacu-flush marine head with holding tank.
The boat carries a Yanmar engine recently serviced, along with a Twin Disc transmission and custom Jet Stick control integrated with a Vetus bow thruster. The electrical system includes three 12-volt batteries totaling 540 amps, a Freedom Heart inverter, and dual bilge pumps. Three opening aluminum hatches with screens and multiple ports provide ventilation throughout. An insulated engine box provides additional seating in the cockpit.
