1995 Custom Mothership

This 72-foot aluminum explorer was custom-built by Shear Yachts as a Chandeleur fishing and expedition mothership. Originally constructed for its builder's personal use, the boat combines commercial-grade construction with expedition capability, featuring a shallow 4-foot-6-inch draft suitable for remote waters and coastal exploration.

The layout accommodates 12 passenger berths for overnight voyages, with capacity for up to 24 passengers on day trips. Two heads serve the accommodations. The boat carries 1,600 gallons of fuel and 1,250 gallons of water, supporting extended range operations. Power comes from twin 8-71 Detroit diesels paired with twin generators.

The boat holds current USCG certification and is actively in operation. It shows well and is ready for immediate use in commercial expedition or charter service.
