1995 Little Harbor 51 Pilothouse

The Tumblehome is a 1995 Little Harbor 51 Pilothouse, a sailing yacht built to the acclaimed Hood design. The pilothouse configuration offers shelter and panoramic views, while the cockpit layout concentrates all sail controls at the helm—a practical feature for short-handed sailing. The boat draws only five feet of water thanks to its shallow-draft hull design, hydrodynamic centerboard, and balanced spade rudder, opening access to shallow cruising grounds. The low-wetted-surface hull and generous sail plan deliver strong performance characteristics typical of the series.

The deck is engineered for low maintenance, and a walk-in engine room simplifies mechanical access and service work. The boat is powered by a Beta Marine 85-horsepower diesel engine installed in 2023 with approximately 290 hours of operation as of October 2025. The V-drive was rebuilt in 2023 to match the new engine.

Recent upgrades include a new mainsail installed in 2024 and a wind generator added the same year. The boat carries a Northern Lights 6-kilowatt generator with fewer than 600 hours of service. A Geneo system was installed in 2025. The yacht has been consistently maintained and upgraded throughout its three-owner history.
