1995 Tartan T3800

This 1995 Tartan 3800 is a 38-foot fiberglass sloop designed by Tim Jackett. The boat features classic yacht lines with a sugar scoop transom and swim ladder, paired with a T-shaped cockpit that provides good visibility and accommodates a large wheel. All halyards and reef lines run aft to the cockpit, enabling single or shorthanded operation. Varnished teak toe rails, cabin top handrails, and chrome fittings on teak boxes give the deck traditional character. The hull carries a shoal draft Beavertail keel drawing 5.33 feet, displacing 16,000 pounds with 6,800 pounds of ballast.

Below, the interior showcases Tartan's signature teak joinery—louvered door cabinetry, dovetail drawers, and a drop-leaf main cabin table with teak and holly sole. The galley has a gimballed Force 10 four-burner propane stove and oven, Adler Barbour refrigeration, a deep stainless sink, and 80-gallon freshwater capacity. A separate head compartment includes a shower, marine toilet with JABSCO pump assembly replaced in 2024, and a 24-gallon holding tank. The boat sleeps multiple crew with full cabin accommodations throughout.

The Westerbeke 38B diesel engine produces 37 horsepower with 1,563 hours logged as of May 2026. Recent engine work includes a new cutlass bearing in 2023, fuel tank drain and clean in 2021, and a new tachometer and upgraded LED panel lights in 2024. A three-blade folding MaxProp propeller provides efficient power. Sails include a Quantum main and 150% genoa both new in 2015, plus additional UK Sailmakers jibs. The Offshore Spars mast and boom are aluminum with polyurethane finish. Deck hardware throughout—Harken winches, travelers, and fittings; Lewmar hatches; Edson steering—represents top-tier specifications. A rebuilt Navtec hydraulic backstay adjuster was refurbished in 2024.

Navigation and electrical systems have been substantially updated. A new Raymarine Axiom 9 RV multifunction display with LightHouse charts was installed in 2025, paired with a Raymarine autopilot system rebuilt and certified in 2021, along with a new rudder angle sensor in 2022. Independent Garmin GPS and ST50 Plus instruments are mounted at the helm. Dual battery banks include one 80-amp Group 27 and two 105-amp AGM Group 31 batteries installed in 2021. The boat carries two anchors, a Highfield inflatable dinghy with outboard motor, life raft, custom winter cover, and davit crane for launching.
