The Tayana 48 is a fiberglass sailing yacht built in 1995 to Robert Perry's enduring blue-water design. At 48 feet long with a 14.5-foot beam, she combines proven offshore capability with comfortable accommodations. A single Yanmar diesel engine of 87 horsepower provides reliable auxiliary power for cruising.
The interior features a two-cabin layout with a centerline queen berth in the owner's cabin and teak joinery throughout. The galley has new Corian countertops, a new sink and faucet, and the settees are upholstered in ultra leather. Natural light and ventilation are enhanced by the cabin design.
A significant refit completed between 2022 and 2024 addressed major systems comprehensively. The standing rigging was inspected and cleaned, with chainplates reattached to a rebuilt starboard bulkhead. The engine received full service including new fuel tanks, hoses, filters, and belts. A Northern Lights 6kW generator was serviced with new motor mounts and custom exhaust. New 6-volt deep-cell gel battery banks were installed, along with a modern Raymarine electronics package.
Deck upgrades include new Eisenglass cockpit enclosure with screens, a new Maxwell 2500 windlass with a Rocna 33 anchor, new electric winch, dinghy davits with motor lift, and new dinghy davits. Mainsail UV cover was restitched, all deck hardware was rebedded, and cockpit and deck teak was replaced with PermaTeak. The center cockpit design prioritizes safety and ease of handling.
