1996 Gozzard 36D

This 1996 Gozzard 36D is a bluewater sailing yacht built for genuine offshore capability and refined living. Designed with thoughtful versatility, she accommodates a sailing couple, small family, or single-hander with the flexibility to host occasional guests. The hull is fiberglass, and she carries a single 63-horsepower Westerbeke diesel engine that drives her at a cruising speed of 5.65 knots.

The interior showcases Gozzard's hallmark craftsmanship in furniture-grade cherry throughout. A distinctive forward saloon can be quickly enclosed as a private cabin, adding remarkable adaptability to the living space. A single head serves the accommodations. Beam measures 12 feet across the 36-foot length.

Between 2013 and 2014, the boat underwent an extensive factory refit that included an Awlgrip hull finish, new running rigging, replacement lifelines and stanchions, fresh dodger and bimini, new mainsail cover, reupholstered interior in light cream Ultrasuede, all new fans and latches, and modern navigation equipment including a Garmin plotter with radar dome and GPS antenna. A new water heater was also installed, along with a mainsheet arch repositioning control lines.

Fall 2021 brought substantial additional work: all exterior brightwork professionally stripped and refinished with five coats of Cetol, replacement of fuel pump, raw water and hot water hoses, engine room blower, galley and head drains, the head itself (new Jabsco electric vacuum model with all associated hoses), macerator pump, fire extinguishers, transmission cooler, house and starter batteries, fuel tank sender and gauge, deck organizer sheaves, and the windlass. The staysail furler was serviced, cockpit tables rebuilt, engine mounts repaired, cutlass bearing replaced, dripless stuffing box installed, rudder post repacked, and the Edson steering system rebuilt. New handles were added to sole hatches, a new bimini installed, and the battery switch relocated with fresh cables throughout. A new engine wiring harness was added to the glow plug circuit, and inoperative dome lights were replaced.
