1996 USMI RHIB

This 1996 USMI RHIB is a 36-foot rigid inflatable boat with a composite Kevlar hull designed for high-speed offshore operation in challenging conditions. The hull was originally built in 1996 and was recommissioned in 2013 with twin Cummins 5.9 diesel engines producing 380 horsepower each, paired with KaMeWa jet drives. The boat reaches a maximum speed of 43 knots and cruises at 28 knots. The inflatable tube gunwale is constructed from reinforced fabric and capable of handling heavy seas and winds up to 45 knots.

The helm station features a Furuno touch-screen MFD, Garmin GPS with fish finder, Standard Horizon VHF, and full monitoring gauges with Cummins digital tachs. A Furuno radar with closed-array dome is mounted on the tower, along with adjustable forward-facing LED light bar, all-around LED strobes, deck and navigation lights, and a loudhailer. Triple helm seats accommodate the operator and crew.

The foredeck includes new tubes installed in 2013 with protective cover, forward bollard, welded stainless lifting eyes, port and starboard T-track, and bilge storage. The rear deck provides a large cargo platform with additional T-track, padeyes, stainless cleats, and Seastop scuppers. The boat accommodates up to 14 people and weighs 13,500 pounds. A one-head galley supports crew needs. A custom trailer is included.

The 2013 recommissioning involved replacing the original Caterpillar engines with Cummins diesels and new electrical systems, wiring, and electronics. Two cannon downriggers are also included. The boat is stored inside during winter months.
