The Lagoon 470 is a 47-foot fiberglass catamaran designed by Marc Van Peteghem and Vincent Prevost, built by Lagoon in France in 1998. Twin fin keels and blade rudders provide stability and handling, while a single wheel helm position in the cockpit offers clear sightlines. Power comes from two Yanmar 3JH3E 38 hp diesel engines driving saildrives with max-pitch propellers; the port engine is original, while the starboard was replaced in 2010. Both engines were fully serviced in May 2025, with new seals on the saildrives completed at the same time.
The boat is rigged as a sloop with standing rigging updated in 2017 and carries seven sails, including main and genoa from 2022 by Faber & Münker sail makers. Eleven Harken winches handle sail management. Navigation relies on Raymarine instruments installed in 2015, which were replaced under insurance following a lightning strike. The electrical system includes a Kohler 6500 generator (6.5 kva, 548 hours), a 1500w inverter, Fronius 70 ah battery charger, and new 600w of solar panels added in May 2025, with five battery banks.
Accommodation spans four double cabins distributed between the two hulls—one forward and one aft in each—plus a central saloon. The layout includes a large saloon seating area to starboard, additional seating to port, and a central nav station. A galley sits down steps to port. Four toilets and showers serve the accommodation, along with a calorifier and holding tank.
A €30,000 refit was completed in 2025, addressing engines, seals, solar installation, and systems servicing.
