The 1998 Mainship Pilot 30 is a downeast-style trawler built from fiberglass, measuring 30 feet long with a 10-foot-3-inch beam. Power comes from a single Yanmar diesel engine rated at 230 horsepower with documented low engine hours. The hull features a ceramic coating. Performance includes a cruising speed of 12.6 knots and a maximum speed of 17.4 knots.

The boat's deck layout centers on a low-profile design topped with a factory hardtop. Non-skid decking runs across the working areas, and helm seating provides comfortable sightlines for operation.
