1998 Viking 50 Convertible

This 1998 Viking 50 Convertible is a composite-hulled convertible built with a deep-V design. Twin MAN D2840LE401 diesel inboards, each producing 820 horsepower, power the boat to a cruising speed of 25 knots and provide a range of approximately 329 miles. At 50 feet in length with a 16-foot beam, the design balances stability with responsive handling.

The interior layout includes three cabins and two heads. The boat is equipped with updated electronics throughout, including autopilot and radar. Vacuum-flush heads, underwater lights, and three flat-screen televisions are installed. There is no aft freezer. The boat cruises comfortably for both day trips and extended passages.

Recent service work was performed in January 2024, including a 1,000-hour service completed at 3,975 engine hours and bottom maintenance. The engines have accumulated 4,000 hours. The boat has been stored under cover and is run monthly. It spent most of its operational history in the Upper Chesapeake Bay, where it was hauled and shrink-wrapped seasonally.
