1999 Contour 34 SC

This 1999 Contour 34 is a fiberglass trimaran designed for both cruising and racing. The three-hull design delivers stability, safety, and maneuverability in a craft that reaches 18–20 knots under sail. The outer hulls can be retracted, reducing the beam from 24 feet to 12 feet for easier transport and maneuvering in tight waters. A single 20 hp Suzuki engine with extended shaft provides auxiliary power and features remote control operation.

The boat is equipped for serious sailing with a square-top carbon fiber mainsail with two reefs and six full battens, an asymmetrical spinnaker with sock, a screecher, and three radial jibs covering 100%, 130%, and 140% of foretriangle area. A rotating wing mast and dual rudders with wheel steering round out the sail plan. The RayMarine ST600 autopilm, RayMarine wind and direction instruments, and Garmin Echomap Plus 90 chartplotter support navigation and helm management.

Onboard accommodations include standing headroom, a separate head, galley, Coleman two-burner LP stove, and an Isotherm 12-volt refrigerator. Power comes from two Group 31 deep-cycle house batteries and one Group 27 motor battery, supported by a 330-watt solar panel, 20 amp solar controller, and 2000-watt charger-inverter. A Mariner Air AC and heating unit (16,000 BTU) provides climate control. Additional amenities include a VHF radio, Sony AM/FM radio, Lewmar V700 anchor windlass, and a 6-by-6.5-foot bimini.

The boat rides on an aluminum three-axle trailer, enabling transport between cruising grounds and racing venues. Standard safety gear includes four life jackets, a LifeLink rescue sling, and dual anchors with rode and chain.
