2007 Simpson Catamaran

This 2007 Simpson catamaran is a 33-foot wooden cruiser built with western red cedar strip hulls and West System epoxy throughout. The boat spans 19 feet 3 inches across the beam and displaces 8000 pounds. Power comes from two 20-horsepower Suzuki EFI outboards with approximately 170 hours of use, capable of 6 knots cruising speed under motors or 13 knots under sail. The new North Sails 115% jib and new Lewmar furler, along with five new halyards, provide the sailing capability. The mast stands 45 feet with an additional 13-foot radar arch, reaching 54 feet overall above water.

Below decks, the catamaran accommodates four berths: two queen berths forward and one double berth on the starboard aft side. The head features an Airhead compost toilet with an instant hot water shower. The galley includes a Dometic refrigerator, three-burner propane stove, and running water from dual 25-gallon tanks. The main cabin, with its raised roof providing 360-degree visibility, offers 6 feet 2 inches of headroom and a Dickinson propane heater.

Navigation and electronics include two Garmin chartplotters at the nav station and pilot station, Garmin doppler radar, two VHF radios with dedicated antennas, and a Garmin AIS transponder. A Lewmar windlass with dual remote controls manages two ready-to-deploy anchors with 50 feet of 5/16-inch chain and 100 feet of braided line. Dual battery banks and dual solar panel banks provide independent power circuits per hull, with LED lighting throughout. Deck systems include dual 30-gallon fresh water tanks with Shurflow pumps, saltwater wash stations, and substantial fuel capacity: 14 gallons port and 18 gallons starboard in the main tanks, plus 10-gallon reserve tanks per side.
