1999 Custom 196' Fast RoPax Ferry
About This Yacht
This 1999 Fast RoPax ferry was built by Kvaerner Fjellstrand in Norway and measures 196 feet overall with a 54-foot beam. The steel hull is DNV classed (1A1 HSLC notation) and flagged to Cyprus. The boat carries up to 428 passengers and accommodates 52 cars on dedicated vehicle decks, with free height of 9.5 feet in the main car deck and 12.8 feet aft for buses. A stern ramp provides vehicle loading.
Two Caterpillar 3618 diesel engines rated at 7,200 kW each drive a pair of KaMeWa water jets. The ferry achieves a service speed of 28–33 knots with a maximum speed of 35 knots. Twin bow thrusters and Kvaerner MDS stabilizers manage maneuvering and sea-keeping.
The passenger decks were substantially renovated in 2021, with new seat covers in leather and renewed flooring throughout the main passenger areas. The boat operates fully in class with current certificates and remains in active service.
