The 1999 Passport 456 is a 46-foot fiberglass cruising yacht designed by Bob Perry, featuring a proven ocean-going hull and comprehensive offshore capability. The boat is powered by a professionally maintained Yanmar 4JH2-TE 62-horsepower turbocharged diesel with approximately 5,556 hours. The rig—entirely renewed in 2007 with oversized 1x19 316 stainless steel standing rigging—includes a LeFiell mast and Schaeffer in-boom furling boom. The sail plan comprises a fully battened mainsail, 120-percent genoa, staysail, and gennaker with snuffer. Four electric Lewmar winches, all leading back to the cockpit, allow the yacht to be sailed single-handed. A December 2025 rigging inspection is available, with standing rigging replaced as needed over the years.
The accommodations feature two cabins and two heads. The forward V-berth includes opening portholes and generous storage, served by a private head with a separate stall shower, Corian countertops, and an electric toilet. The aft cabin offers a centerline queen-sized berth under two portholes with an opening hatch, a full hanging locker, and a private head with shower. The saloon seats six or more with a dining table to port that folds down or converts to a cocktail table, while the galley to starboard offers substantial counter and locker space. Throughout, the interior showcases quality teak joinery with handmade louvered doors, a teak and holly sole, and solid construction in trim and joinery.
The yacht carries modern systems for extended cruising: a Fischer Panda 6000 110-volt generator, 750 watts of solar panels with new batteries and Victron monitoring, a reverse-cycle heat and air-conditioning system with dual zones, a 12-volt watermaker, and comprehensive navigation including an Axiom 12 chartplotter at the helm and an Axiom 7 at the nav station. An ICOM M710 SSB radio with autotuner provides long-range communication. A Vetus bow thruster, added in 2018, and a Lewmar Ocean II windlass with 200 feet of 3/8-inch chain anchor rode support easy handling. The yacht includes a 2019 AB aluminum RIB tender with a 6-horsepower Tohatsu 4-stroke engine mounted on stainless steel davits. Recent upgrades include a PSS dripless shaft seal, cutlass bearing, new starter, rudder bearing and stuffing box, replaced teak cap rail, and a fresh Awlgrip hull repaint in 2020.
