The Paladin 60 is a one-off sailing yacht built in 2000 with a composite sandwich construction of epoxy, PVC foam, and glass reinforced with epoxy. The 60-foot hull with a 15.75-foot beam was designed by Lerouge and constructed and fitted out by its long-term owners. The centerboard draft ranges from 3.1 meters down to 1.3 meters when raised, enabling close approach to shallow anchorages and coastal exploration. A single 50 hp Volvo diesel engine provides auxiliary power. The boat includes a swim platform accessible from a transom skirt, an outdoor shower, and davits suitable for tender deployment.
Four double cabins accommodate guests, with one featuring an upper and lower bunk arrangement. The interior includes a dedicated chart table, a spacious main saloon, and multiple heads. Autonomy systems are integrated throughout: solar panels, a wind generator, and a water desalination unit support extended cruising without port calls.
The composite construction shows no signs of osmotic degradation. Freeboard and volume suit entertaining and comfortable extended passages. Performance under sail has been demonstrated across open water, with the boat notably capable in demanding sea states.
