The Hunter 340 is a 33-foot fiberglass sloop powered by a single 27-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine. The boat features a fractional rig with swept-back spreaders and reverse diagonals that provide strength without requiring a backstay. The mast design uses smaller sections to minimize weight aloft, and a large roach mainsail serves as the primary power sail. An integrated arch frames the cockpit, offering weather protection while maintaining an open layout. The command station includes a custom console with VHF radio, engine instrumentation, single-lever control, and fold-down table.

The deck is designed for practicality and safety. A swim platform with integrated shower and folding ladder makes boarding and water activities straightforward. A walkthrough transom provides easy access. Nonskid surfacing covers working areas, and storage is distributed throughout the boat. The cockpit layout prioritizes clear sightlines and functionality.

Below deck, the interior comprises two private staterooms and a single head with shower. The salon accommodates eight people and connects to a galley with full cooking facilities.
