2000 Passport 470

The Passport 470 is a Robert Perry design built around serious offshore cruising. This 47-foot fiberglass aft cockpit cutter carries a cutter rig with a skeg-hung rudder and modified fin keel, elements chosen for the kind of safe, manageable sailing that defines bluewater work. Her sailplan includes a Leisure Furl in-boom furling mainsail with fully battened Quantum main, roller furling genoa and staysail, a Parasailer added in 2015, and electric primary winches. A Walder boom brake and newly replaced traveler and mainsheet blocks from 2024 round out the inventory. The 63 HP Yanmar diesel has roughly 3,600 hours and drives a MaxProp feathering propeller.

Below, the interior features teak joinery, teak-and-holly sole, and ebony trim throughout. Two cabins and two heads are arranged with the forward owner's stateroom including an ensuite head and separate shower stall, while an aft guest cabin offers ensuite day head access. The main saloon holds secure offshore seating and a sea berth, with a convertible portside dining settee and full-length starboard settee fitted with lee cloth. The U-shaped galley carries a three-burner Princess stove and oven, Corian countertops, Seafrost refrigeration and freezer, an Engel portable unit, and generous storage.

Systems support extended cruising without shore power. A Northern Lights 6 kW generator installed in 2023 backs up Victron house batteries and inverter/charger from 2022, AirSilentX wind generation from 2022, and new Victron solar panels added in 2024. The Spectra Catalina 300 watermaker received updates in 2023. Dual-zone reverse-cycle air conditioning and a Vetus bow thruster are fitted. Navigation includes Raymarine multifunction displays at helm and nav station, an Evolution autopilot from 2017, radar, AIS, and forward-looking sonar. An Icom VHF from 2023 and Starlink high-speed internet added in 2024 complete the electronics suite.

Cruising gear includes a Plastimo Transocean six-man liferaft, EPIRB, Galerider drogue, and multiple bilge pumps. Ground tackle comprises three anchors including a 75 lb Rocna with 200 feet of chain. An Achilles tender with Yamaha 15 HP outboard is included. She displaces 31,500 pounds, carries 160 gallons of fuel and dual 75-gallon water tanks, and draws 6'9" on a 14'2" beam.
