2001 Cheoy Lee Expedition 70

This 2001 Cheoy Lee Expedition 70 is a fiberglass trawler built for extended blue-water cruising and full-time living aboard. One of only two custom 70-foot Expedition models ever built, she displaces 144,400 pounds and was designed with long-range autonomy in mind. The hull features a redesigned canoe stern with a large swim platform and molded fiberglass boarding stairway. A single diesel engine delivers 9-knot cruising speed and 11-knot maximum speed, with a conservative cruising range of 1,600 nautical miles at 1,750 rpm while consuming 13 gallons per hour.

The lower deck holds three staterooms, each with an en-suite head and sleeping six total across two queen and two twin berths. The main deck includes a forward galley with granite countertops and high-end stainless appliances, a dining room and main salon, and an aft fantail deck with staircase to the swim platform. The upper deck features an enclosed pilothouse with Portuguese bridge, a sky-lounge with day head, and a large open aft deck fitted with a stainless gas grill and seating.

Interior finishes include high-gloss wood accents, wall-to-wall carpeting, cream-colored vinyl bulkheads and overheads, and granite and marble countertops throughout. The pilothouse is equipped with modern electronics and navigation aids. Four heads serve the vessel, and freshwater capacity is 600 gallons from a Sea Recovery watermaker producing 33 gallons per hour. A chilled-water air conditioning system provides 10-ton cooling capacity across the yacht.

A significant refit program was completed in 2022 and beyond, including replacement of all batteries, new Garmin chart plotter and autopilot, new VHF/AIS system, overhauled running gear with new propellers and shafts, new Maxwell windlass, serviced stabilizers with new hydraulic pump, new raw water pumps, watermaker membrane replacement, and 26 new thru-hull seacocks. A 13.5-foot Zodiac rigid-bottom tender with 40-horsepower four-stroke outboard is included with davit launch and retrieval system.
