This 2002 Eagle Pilothouse is a 53-foot fiberglass trawler built for ocean cruising. The design combines a traditional pilothouse with a Portuguese bridge, high freeboard, and covered side and back decks. Twin Cummins diesel engines produce 900 horsepower and push the boat to a top speed of 20 knots, with a cruising speed of 11 knots. The hull incorporates Nydacore construction above the waterline to minimize weight, resulting in a dry displacement of 49,500 pounds. Hard chines, a 30-inch keel, and oversized rudders provide good handling across a wide speed range.
The interior features three staterooms and two full heads. The master and VIP cabins each have walk-around queen berths. All fuel and water tanks are fiberglass, and an aluminum grid runs beneath the sole. Teak with teak and holly sole covers the interior throughout. Hydraulic stabilizers are fitted for sea keeping comfort.
Electronics include Furuno plotters, Simrad autopilot, and AIS, with repeaters on the flybridge. A Fusion sound system is installed. The flybridge enclosure is new, and a diesel hydronic heating system has been recently added.
