This 2003 Goetz Farr 53 is a high-performance racing yacht designed by Farr Yacht Design and built in the United States using full pre-preg epoxy Kevlar composite with carbon reinforcement. The boat features a powerful carbon fibre Hall Spars rig with matching carbon pole and bowsprit, paired with two Harken carbon fibre coffee grinders for efficient sail handling. A comprehensive sail wardrobe supports competitive racing, including nine Olympic Sails racing sails manufactured within the last 12 months and 16 spare sails with five spinnakers. The yacht is equipped with B&G H5000 navigation electronics installed in 2018.
The keel was redesigned and rebuilt in 2019 by Cossutti Yacht Design Studio, significantly improving the boat's performance characteristics. The rudder received further optimization in 2024. A complete refit was carried out during 2016 and 2017, with worn components systematically replaced throughout the boat. The yacht is powered by a single 56 hp Yanmar diesel engine and includes a custom cradle as part of the package.
The boat's construction quality reflects its purpose as a purpose-built racer. The composite hull and carbon components were engineered for both speed and durability in demanding offshore conditions. The continuous refinements to keel and rudder, combined with the modern electronics suite, position this yacht as an actively competitive platform in IRC and ORC racing formats.
