The Solaris 36 One Design is a significant design in Italian sailing history, born from Marco Lostuzzi's innovation and the Solaris yard's vision. This particular hull balances pure racing performance with the timeless, elegant waterlines characteristic of the builder. It features a fractional rig and an oversized square-top mainsail engineered for light air performance, while remaining comfortable for spirited cruising.
The boat was completely refitted in 2023 and is in excellent condition. Work completed that year includes new standing rigging, new running rigging, fully overhauled hydraulic and electrical systems, a completely serviced engine, flush-mount cabin windows, a painted carbon mast and boom, a retractable bowsprit, flush through-hulls, and new Garmin electronics throughout. The battery bank comprises two 100 Ah AGM batteries for ship's services and one 80 Ah AGM for engine starting.
Below decks, two cabins and the dinette feature new mattresses. The cabin layout includes a chart table to starboard and a galley to port with a two-burner cooktop and refrigerator, both new in 2023. Additional systems installed or refreshed in 2023 include heating, an anchor windlass, a battery charger, and a lazy bag. The cockpit features synthetic teak, while a swim ladder and custom-built stern pulpits round out the specification.
The sail inventory is comprehensive. The mainsail and jib are in Millennium membrane (2018/2019) and have seen minimal use. A grey Millennium membrane genaker from 2019 is also available. Additional sails include an older North mainsail and jib in grey membrane from 2007/2008, two spinnakers, and heavy-weather mainsail and trysail. A single 30 hp Lombardini diesel powers the yacht to a cruising speed of 6 knots.
