The 2004 Catana 47 Ocean Class is a composite catamaran built to higher standards than other iterations of the 47-series. The Ocean Class designation reflects Catana's commitment to premium finishes across the model line: the interior features American cherry veneer throughout, Corian countertops in the galley and heads, a carbon mast, and a rigid bimini top. Paired with two 110-horsepower Volvo diesel engines, this yacht delivers both cruising capability and performance.
The three-cabin layout accommodates cruising groups or families with two heads. The carbon mast and high-performance sail plan feature new laminate mainsail and genoa sails installed in 2024. The rig and sails were recently tested during a 1000-mile upwind passage from Belize to Saint Martin, confirming the integrity of the sailing systems, deck fittings, and cabin seals.
A substantial refit completed within the last six months included replacement of the port engine, a new 4.5-kVA generator, fresh bottom paint and saildrive seals, and new porthole seals throughout. The electrical system now features 1800 watts of solar panels, a lithium service battery bank of 780 Ah capacity, and a Spectra watermaker for self-sufficiency. A recent RIB dinghy with outboard rounds out the inventory.
