This 45-foot Custom Shearwater is a blue water cruising yacht built on fiberglass with a diesel Yanmar 4JH3E engine of 55 horsepower. The boat combines classic styling above deck with modern systems below, and has logged 1,750 engine hours. The teak deck is glued rather than screwed, eliminating concerns about core integrity. High bulwarks and an oversized 1.5-inch stainless steel pushpin and pulpit support safe deck movement in rough conditions.
The interior layout centers on a well-appointed salon with U-shaped settee to port and table with settee to starboard, along with a flat screen television. The galley to port features a Force 10 four-burner propane stove and oven, microwave, front-loading refrigerator, top-loading freezer, double stainless sink, and Corian countertops. Forward lies a large master stateroom with a wide berth and ample storage on both sides. An aft cabin with double berth occupies the starboard side, while a single head with separate shower and sink is located to starboard amidships.
Mechanical and electrical systems are comprehensive. The boat carries 80 gallons of fuel in stainless steel tanks, 280 gallons of fresh water across two stainless tanks, and a 14-gallon holding tank. A new 16,000 BTU reverse-cycle air conditioning and heating unit was recently installed, alongside a 5-kilowatt generator with 70 hours of runtime. The 660-amp-hour house battery bank supports an Xantrex inverter and charger. Navigation and communication equipment includes dual Raymarine C-90W chartplotters, recent HD radar, SSB radio, Standard Horizon VHF with AIS, Garmin GPS, and a SatLink Iridium device.
The sail plan consists of newer fully battened mainsail with Harken batten car system, newer genoa, and an asymmetric spinnaker in near-new condition. The triple-spreader rig accommodates an inner forestay for a staysail and features a rigid vang and whisker pole. Multiple Andersen winches handle sail control, including primary and secondary cockpit winches, a furling winch, electric coach roof winches, and mast winches. Deck hardware includes a Lofrans electric windlass, new Rocna anchor, and secondary CQR anchor with chain and rode. A liferaft is aboard but requires re-certification.
