2004 Hanse 411

This 2004 Hanse 411 was designed by Judel/Vrolijk and built in Germany. At 40.5 feet with a 12.9-foot beam, she combines modern performance sailing with straightforward handling suited to short-handed crews and couples. The hand-laid fiberglass hull with balsa core is supported by a substantial structural grid bonded directly to the hull, paired with a deep fin keel and balanced spade rudder for responsive upwind performance and solid tracking.

The interior reflects clean European styling with white bulkheads, gloss varnish mahogany joinery, and maintained faux teak and holly cabin soles. The main salon is bright and spacious, opening from the companionway with generous headroom and numerous hatches and portlights for natural light. A substantial U-shaped settee surrounds a centerline table, with a nav desk amidships. The secure L-shaped galley includes separate refrigeration and freezer boxes, double stainless-steel sinks, and a gimbaled stove with oven. The large head opposite features an integral shower. Forward, the owner's stateroom has a large V-berth with hanging lockers and abundant storage, while an equally spacious guest cabin aft offers a double berth and excellent stowage. A quarter cabin aft to starboard provides additional sleeping or storage space.

Deck layout prioritizes ease of handling with wide side decks, strategically placed handholds, and all primary sail controls led aft to the cockpit for safe operation from the helm. The large self-tacking jib eliminates sheet handling during tacks. A spacious T-shaped cockpit with teak seating, folding table, and generous locker storage accommodates both sailing and entertaining, while a walk-through transom provides direct access to the integrated swim platform. The 56-horsepower Yanmar diesel with saildrive powers the boat, with a Flexofold folding propeller.

Equipment includes a Raymarine Axiom 9 radar chartplotter, Simrad autopilot with hydraulic drive, two lithium house battery banks installed in 2025, a 100-watt solar panel, and a Webasto diesel cabin heater newly installed in 2025. The full sail inventory comprises a Dacron mainsail, Doyle and Quantum self-tacking jibs, a Doyle 105% radial jib, and a Quantum asymmetrical spinnaker with ATN sock. Recent upgrades include a new saildrive shaft seal, replaced anchor windlass, updated radar and chartplotter, hull barrier coat and bottom paint, and a complete suite of Harken winches. A Highfield inflatable dinghy with 2.5-horsepower Yamaha outboard is included.
