ILONA is a 30-foot downeast lobster yacht built by Gannon & Benjamin on Martha's Vineyard in 2005. She is constructed of wood in lapstrake style and powered by a Yanmar 6By-260 diesel engine producing 260 horsepower, installed in 2008. The boat cruises at 16 knots with a range exceeding 200 miles and displaces 12,000 pounds.
Below deck are sleeping accommodations for two, along with a galley equipped with sink, stove, and refrigerator. The boat includes a 6-gallon Seaward hot water heater, Sea Frost 12-volt refrigeration, and a 30-gallon aluminum freshwater tank. The electrical system comprises two 8D 12-volt batteries with a ProMar Digital Model 1220p charger. The 110-gallon aluminum diesel fuel tank provides extended cruising capability.
Navigation and electronics include a Garmin GPSmap 741xs chart plotter with integrated radar. ILONA comes with a lapstrake rowing and sailing tender, cradled on stern davits. The boat was recognized as Best in Show at Mystic Seaport's WoodenBoat Show in 2024.
