2005 J Boats J/100

The J/100 is a 33-foot fiberglass racing sloop built for competitive performance across both fully crewed and short-handed configurations. This example, Eight Ball, is equipped with a Stack Pack mainsail cover and a custom under-deck furler that work with push-button remote controls for rapid sail deployment. The boat can be steered either by tiller or via a custom composite wheel, with a forward steering station positioned to allow single-handed operation while maintaining optimal weight placement and access to halyard controls.

The cockpit features full-length seats with backrests and spans the full width of the boat, with self-bailing design and integrated weather protection via a dodger. Below deck, the layout includes two berths and a marine head, with an optional forward V-berth available. A high-modulus jib boom supports the single-handed rig configuration.

Eight Ball is powered by a 10 horsepower Yanmar 2GM 20F diesel auxiliary with a folding propeller for when conditions require engine assistance. The boat's design emphasizes simplicity in both setup and stowage, engineered to be launched and retrieved efficiently.
