The 2005 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 54 DS is a five-cabin, four-head cruising yacht designed by Vittorio Garroni and Jacques Fauroux. Her hull features a stable, relatively flat bottom with firm chines, a swept-back fin keel, and a responsive spade rudder. The raised trunk cabin forward and generous aft cockpit are complemented by stainless steel pulpits, double lifelines, and sturdy stanchions. A single 100 hp Yanmar diesel powers the yacht.
Below deck, the interior is bright and intelligently laid out across five staterooms. Forward is a V-berth with adjacent guest cabin featuring upper and lower berths and a head. A double cabin to starboard includes a private ensuite head. The main salon holds a large U-shaped dinette to starboard and settee to port, while an L-shaped galley to port of the companionway is equipped for extended cruising. A dedicated navigation station sits opposite the galley. Aft are two queen cabins, each with private ensuite heads. The cockpit includes multiple storage lockers, lazarettes beneath the helm seats, a centrally located propane locker with dual 10lb tanks, and port-side storage for auxiliary fuel.
Recent upgrades include new mattresses and salon upholstery (2021), a Dickinson Mediterranean 3-burner propane stove (2020), and a complete freshwater sanitary system with four VacuFlush heads (2021). Power systems were substantially upgraded with a 400Ah lithium house bank, high-output alternator with external regulator, and a 3000W inverter/charger (new in 2025). Additional dedicated battery banks support the windlass, bow thruster, and winches (2025). Solar capacity comprises four 160W panels with individual controllers (2022), and a 600 GPD watermaker (2021) supplies fresh water. Heating is provided by an Espar 12KW hydronic diesel system with six zones and hot water (replaced 2024).
Navigation and connectivity equipment includes a complete B&G electronics suite with Zeus display, autopilot with wireless remote, Vesper Cortex VHF with AIS, and Starlink for internet connectivity (2023). Deck systems feature in-mast furling, Harken winches including an electric cabin-top winch, and a new dodger and bimini (2023). A 2022 marine survey reported the hull, deck, and structure in good condition.
