2005 Mainship 400 Trawler

This 2005 Mainship 400 is a 40-foot fiberglass trawler powered by a single Yammer 370 hp diesel engine. The boat cruises at 8 knots with a maximum speed of 12 knots, drawing only 3 feet 8 inches and offering a bridge clearance of 16 feet 4 inches—practical dimensions for extended inland waterway travel. The hull is painted flag blue with a beam of 14 feet 2 inches, providing stable, efficient cruising characteristics suited to long-distance voyaging.

The interior is bright and open with generous outdoor living spaces. Accommodations are arranged for comfortable extended cruising or full-time liveaboard use, with thoughtful layout and finishes throughout. The boat carries substantial fuel capacity and is equipped with a Kohler 8 kW generator, two solar panels, and four AGM 8D batteries to support extended anchoring periods.

Recent work includes new raw water and fresh water pumps, a new exhaust elbow and riser, and a freshly waxed hull and topsides. The bottom paint was upgraded in 2025. A new windlass motor and Mantis 65-pound anchor were installed in 2025, and a Tides Marine dripless shaft seal was fitted in 2023. The single Yammer diesel has logged approximately 3,615 hours and benefits from detailed maintenance records kept onboard. A 2,000-hour preventative service has been completed, including fuel injector servicing and cleaning of the oil cooler, heat exchanger, and transmission cooler.
