The 2007 Mariner 40 Orient is a fiberglass trawler built around a single 370-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine with just 1,675 hours. The design delivers a cruising speed of 8 knots with excellent fuel efficiency and a practical range of operational speeds. A Vetus bow thruster installed in 2021 provides responsive maneuvering in tight quarters.
The layout offers two staterooms and one head with a separate shower, arranged in a galley-up configuration. The interior features full teak joinery and benefits from dual helm stations—one upper on the flying bridge and one lower in the pilothouse—along with a hardtop-covered aft cockpit. Navigation electronics include AIS and docking cameras added in 2024. Climate control comes from two heat and air conditioning units, with one replaced in 2024.
Power and systems have been substantially upgraded. A new Onan 6.5 kW generator from 2021 shows 280 hours, a Xantrex inverter from 2024, and all-new batteries installed in 2025 back the electrical infrastructure. Two 200-watt solar panels with Victron controller were added in 2025. An 11-foot AB RIB dinghy with a 20-horsepower Tohatsu outboard and an electric davit with remote control complete the complement.
