The 2005 Morris 486 is an offshore sailing yacht designed by Chuck Paine, built with a long, lean fiberglass hull engineered for strong performance across all points of sail and serious seaworthiness. The raised pilothouse design provides excellent visibility and enhanced interior volume, while the deck layout is optimized for short-handed sailing with mainsail controls and traveler positioned for efficient handling.
Below deck, the yacht offers a two-stateroom, two-head layout with a large navigation station, dedicated workroom, and beam galley suited to extended cruising. Interior details include varnished woodwork, natural light throughout, and careful finishing. A 75-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine provides auxiliary power.
Recent upgrades include a new Fischer Panda 5kW generator installed in 2024, new rod and running rigging over the last three to four years, and rig work completed in 2020. Electronics and A/V systems have been upgraded, and the yacht is equipped with a Starlink satellite communications system. Bottom paint and PropSpeed were applied in June 2025, and a new tender outboard has been added.
