2006 Ellis Express

The 2006 Ellis Express is a 36-foot downeast hardtop built by Ellis Boat Company in Southwest Harbor, Maine. She is powered by a single Yammer 500 hp commercial-grade diesel engine, which delivers cruising speeds between 12 and 18 knots. The boat carries dual main fuel tanks plus two smaller auxiliary tanks with a fuel transfer pump, extending range for extended passages. Power generation comes from a 12kw Master Volt Whisper Generator supplying 110-volt shore and onboard power, with hydraulic systems driving variable-speed bow and stern thrusters. The stern thruster rotates 90 degrees and can provide forward propulsion as needed.

Below deck, the single cabin includes comfortable sleeping quarters, galley, and head. Climate control is provided by air conditioning for warm months and reverse-cycle heat for cooler seasons. The interior is finished to a high standard, with updated electronics and well-appointed helm and companion seating areas.

Recent mechanical work includes engine servicing, bottom sanding and paint, zinc replacement, running gear antifouling treatment, hull polish, and new exterior deck cushions.
