The 2006 Tiara 2900 Open Classic is a 31-foot fiberglass sportfish built with substantial construction details throughout. The hull features prop pockets to reduce shaft angles and lower bow height, while ax-head rudders enhance handling and control. The engine room is insulated and fitted with a muffler system that includes side exhausts to keep noise levels down. The fiberglass layup combines vinylester barrier coat, solid-glass bottom, knitted biaxial cloth, and Coremat in the hullsides, with end-grain balsa in the decks. Engines mount on solid-brass rods that pass horizontally through the stringers for additional alignment protection.
The cabin offers two double berths. The aft dinette has a lift-up back cushion that laches to the overhead with a nylon strap, opening space beneath the helm station for a six-foot-four-inch berth. The forward berth becomes a double with its fold-up drop section. The head features a curved door to maximize interior space, and the galley includes a dual-voltage refrigerator, single-burner electric cooktop, and molded sink with pressure freshwater system.
The cockpit is designed for control and visibility. The helm console tilts aft, and the gray fiberglass dash minimizes glare on the clustered gauges. Back-to-back seating gives clear sightlines through the windshield, which is framed with a thick poly trim band at the top to deflect spray. A walk-through transom door and optional fish wells complete the fishing layout.
