The 2007 Beneteau Oceanis 523 is a 52-foot fiberglass cruising sailboat designed by the Finot Group, combining performance-oriented hull design with comfortable offshore capability. Built to race competitively—this example was race-prepared for the Port Huron–to–Mackinac Race with an ORC rating of 1.0266—the yacht balances speed and seaworthiness with the accommodations expected of a luxury cruiser. She is powered by a single 110 hp Yammer diesel engine and fitted with a folding three-blade bronze propeller, electric anchor windlass, and bow thruster for practical handling.
The interior arranges four cabins and four heads across a refined layout finished in cherry wood with hardwood floors. The owner's suite sits forward with a semi-walkaround berth, vanity, seating area, and private head with separate shower. Two guest staterooms each have en-suite heads, while crew quarters forward include a private head and deck access. The main salon features a U-shaped dinette for eight and forward-facing navigation station. The galley is fully equipped with a four-burner propane stove and oven, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, and double stainless sinks. Three air-conditioning units and updated LED lighting throughout support year-round comfort.
Deck layout includes teak throughout, dual helm stations with twin compasses, and a cockpit designed for entertaining with newer bimini and dodger, refinished teak table, and cockpit cushions. Electronics comprise dual Raymarine E80 color radar/chartplotters, ST6000+ autopilot, and full instrumentation for wind, depth, and speed. The sail plan includes a new five-batten composite mainsail, 2017 North Sails 135% Genoa with roller furling, asymmetrical and symmetrical spinnakers, and a drifter, all managed by electric Harken winches. An Onan 9.5kW generator, 12 batteries refreshed between 2021 and 2023, and 50-amp shore power support extended cruising.
Recent maintenance includes a sandblasted bottom with epoxy barrier and paint, new rudder bearing, rubrail, bimini and wheel covers, new mirrors in all four heads, and a new jib furler top roller. A 2022 12-foot Saturn dinghy with 15 hp Johnson outboard is included as tender.
