2007 Class 40 Akilaria RC1

The Akilaria RC1 is a first-generation Class 40 designed by Marc Lombard and built by MC-TEC in 2007 for competitive offshore racing. At 40 feet with a 14.7-foot beam, this fiberglass hull combines the dual purpose of fast offshore cruising and racing performance. The design is known for reliability and robustness when properly maintained, capable of both sustained ocean passages and competitive Class 40 speeds. A single diesel engine provides auxiliary power.

Under previous ownership, this boat completed the Atlantic Cup multiple times, with a third-place finish in 2014 and a third-place finish in the 2019 Bermuda One-Two. The boat has one head and accommodates crew in a layout suited to both racing and extended cruising. The interior is arranged for offshore work and comfort during long passages.

A recent and extensive refit has been completed, putting the boat in condition for immediate offshore operation. The combination of proven design, race history, and recent work makes this an example of the earlier Class 40 models now increasingly valued as fast blue water cruisers capable of long-distance coastal and ocean sailing.
