The 2007 Hanse 540e is a 52-foot cruising sailboat built for comfort and capable offshore performance. Powered by an 81-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine, it reaches a cruising speed of 8 knots and a maximum speed of 10 knots. The boat is equipped with a bow thruster, a three-blade folding propeller, and hydraulic steering, making it manageable for a small crew.
The interior arranges four cabins and three heads across the hull, providing comfortable accommodation for cruising. The main saloon features a dinette with ceramic-top table (2021), entertainment system, and heating. Galley amenities include a stove, oven, and freezer. A hot and cold external shower, onboard water maker, and modern plumbing support extended voyages.
The rig is straightforward and well-equipped: aluminum mast and boom, six electric winches, rigid boom vang, jiffy reefing system, and modern compact stranded rigging. The mainsail is battened with car systems; the jib is roller-furling. The boat carries a storm jib, trysail, and gennaker. Sail inventory was replaced four years ago.
Navigation and safety systems include dual-station chartplotter (2017), radar (2017), dual-station autopilot, wind station, log, echosounder, and VHF radio. Power comes from a 5-kilowatt Panda generator, engine battery (2021), and six 120-amp service batteries (2021). The boat includes air conditioning, a Webasto heating system, and an inflatable tender with Honda outboard. The hull was hauled, zincs renewed, and polished in July 2025.
